A Celebration of a Decade of Discoveries
From July 8th to 11th, the Radboud University in Nijmegen hosted the highly anticipated Highlights in the Language Sciences Conference 2024, held at the Grotius building. This conference marked the grand conclusion of the ten-year Gravitation Program, celebrating a decade of groundbreaking research and advancements in the field of language sciences.
Over the course of four days, nearly forty distinguished speakers from around the world shared their insights and discoveries, contributing to a rich tapestry of knowledge and innovation. The event also featured over 200 poster presentations, offering attendees a comprehensive overview of the latest research and developments in the language sciences.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers for their dedication and for delivering such engaging and insightful presentations. Additionally, we are grateful to the poster presenters for sharing their valuable knowledge and contributing to the vibrant academic exchange. The conference was not only a platform for academic exchange but also a hub of social interaction and enjoyment. Attendees were treated to a delightful BBQ, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among researchers and scholars. On Wednesday afternoon, participants had the opportunity to explore the charming city of Nijmegen through a city walk and a visit to the Bastei Museum. This cultural excursion concluded at De Kaaij, where everyone savored delicious paella under the sunny skies, accompanied by refreshing drinks.
Thursday afternoon was a special segment dedicated to honoring Peter Hagoort’s significant contributions to the field and his impact on the academic community.
